Straylight Run – With God on Our Side Lyrics 19 years ago
frankly, i think this is one of the better covers of a dylan song i've heard. straylights version gives it a much more epic and haunting sound. its going to be on an upcoming dylan tribute album from drive-thru/love minus zero records, coming out on june 21st.

Matt Beilis – Too Far Away Lyrics 21 years ago
I think Matt has tons of potential... there has been quite the influx of piano artists into the mainstream lately. The music and lyrics are very good, but to me, the voice is lacking just a bit, but I think that will come with time.

If you really like him, you should check out another up and coming guy of the same breed. His name is gavin degraw and he deserves to be heard.

Dashboard Confessional – Remember to Breathe Lyrics 22 years ago
ok, so i just got back from a date, and i inadvertantly listened to this song on the way to pick her up... didnt think much of it. then on the way home after i dropped her off, it came on again. it made me feel all good inside. this was my first date since a very rough breakup a while ago... so feeling good inside is a huge step for me moving on, and i can thank chris for it :-)

Bouncing Souls – Kate Is Great Lyrics 22 years ago
heh, amusing stuff from the peanut gallery. i think its really funny that you look down up him/her b/c they listen to STD (sweet ass band, along w/ b-souls). you people are so caught up on the "image" of your music, that you can't stand it when other people like the same stuff too. you like the music, so why shouldn't someone else, regardless of what they listen to? i dunno... get off your high horse and help them out... btw, anti-flag130... its write, not right. if you're going to make fun of someone, at least do it intelligently. gah!

The Beatles – Strawberry Fields Forever Lyrics 22 years ago

Something Corporate – When It Goes Down Lyrics 22 years ago
i know konstantine gets all the fanfare, but this one is just as good if not better. its a little more fast paced, but the feeling is there. The best part about music (to men anyways) is how easy it is to convey feelings. sometimes the words aren't there, so the music takes over. sometimes the words do it alone. when you get them together the result is often beautiful, like konstantine or when it goes down. dashboard confessional is great at it also. when all else in the world is bad, we've got beautiful music to turn to. spread the love.

Elvis Costello – Radio Radio Lyrics 22 years ago
btw, i wasnt saying that he didnt start playing that other song, he was just supposed to play Alison on orders from the record company. just wanted to clear things up.

Elvis Costello – Radio Radio Lyrics 22 years ago
SNL didn't care what Elvis did on the show. It was his record label that was pissed about it. They wanted him to play Alison (not Less than Zero) but he decided to do what he wanted. That was a bigger moment in music history than many people think.

Bob Dylan – Desolation Row Lyrics 22 years ago

Bob Dylan – Blowin' in the Wind Lyrics 22 years ago
i like this song for many reasons. first, because it makes people think (well, anyone with half a brain). it raises many questions of morality in the world at the time... ie war, oppression, any sort of human rights violations. second, and it kind of goes along with the first, is that though he says "the answer to all these questions is right in front of us, yet we do not see it" (from MrMojo) he doesnt ever say what that answer is, thus provoking more thought upon the listener. Though the questions are all rhetoric, i believe there is one answer that will solve all of them. Love. yeah, it sounds all hippie-like, and it doesnt really seem like a dylan message, but this song was perfect for that time period. Dylan is, was, and always will be an extroidinary song-writer... one of the best there's ever been.

Eve 6 – Open Road Song Lyrics 22 years ago
i can't decide about the last line "I search for comfort and I find it where I've found it many times before Times before can be forgotten"... either he's saying, sometimes you forget the most obvious places you can go for comfort, or he needs to forget where he could go for comfort before b/c he can't go there anymore (ie ex-girlfriend) i dunno, probably the first explanation...

Dave Matthews Band – Proudest Monkey Lyrics 22 years ago
im surprised nobody has anything to say about proudest mokey! its pretty straightforward, i think just about anyone can grasp the meaning. regardless, this is just a fun song to listen to. all the little bells and whistles in the background are funny and remind me of those whistle suckers i used to eat when i was little.... hehe, the good old days.

Zebrahead – Playmate Of The Year Lyrics 22 years ago
so funny, but unless you actively listen to the lyrics you wont get everything. it took me a couple of times to realize the "milky clear" part. when i play it for other people and im laughing my ass off, they all think im crazy... then i tell them to listen to the lyrics. wonderful, i love it.
