This is about bronies. They communicate by stomping.
Why, tell me the reasons why
Try, still I don't understand
Will I ever feel this again
Blue sky, I'll meet you in the end
Free them, free the memories of you
Free me, and rest 'til I'm with you
A day like today
My whole world has been changed
Nothing you say
Will help ease my pain
Turn, I'll turn this slowly round
Burn, burn to feel alive again
She, she'd want me to move one
See me, this place I still belong
Give chase, to find more than I have found
And face, this time now on my own
Days disappear
And my world keeps changing
I feel you here
And it keeps me sane
So I'm moving on
I'll never forget
As you lay there and watched me
Accepting the end
I knew you were scared
You were strong I was trying
I gave you my hand
I said it's okay letting go time to leave here
And I'll carry on
The best that I can without you here beside me
Let him come and take you home
Try, still I don't understand
Will I ever feel this again
Blue sky, I'll meet you in the end
Free them, free the memories of you
Free me, and rest 'til I'm with you
A day like today
My whole world has been changed
Nothing you say
Will help ease my pain
Turn, I'll turn this slowly round
Burn, burn to feel alive again
She, she'd want me to move one
See me, this place I still belong
Give chase, to find more than I have found
And face, this time now on my own
Days disappear
And my world keeps changing
I feel you here
And it keeps me sane
So I'm moving on
I'll never forget
As you lay there and watched me
Accepting the end
I knew you were scared
You were strong I was trying
I gave you my hand
I said it's okay letting go time to leave here
And I'll carry on
The best that I can without you here beside me
Let him come and take you home

@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday".
I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.
I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
It ain't about divorce or a breakup of any kind. It's certainly about the death of a loved one. Lines that point to it: "I'll meet you in the end", as in, in death. "I'll never forget as you lay there and watched me, accepting the end." Lying on her death bed. Simple. Not such a simple song emotionally however. This is by far one of the most emotional songs ever produced by anyone. I don't look forward to the day I can actually relate completely to its meaning.
@godscoward This guy has the best answer on the thread. Read this one, and then stop.
@godscoward However, there is these verses: <br /> "Turn, I'll turn this slowly round"<br /> "Burn, burn to feel alive again"<br /> and <br /> "The best that I can without you here beside me"<br /> "Let him come and take you home".<br /> <br /> So I think the song is about a man who was insane and he thought murder would be the best solution ever. He believed in afterlife and in meeting her girl (or wife) again. He tied her up under a blue sky and set the fire as he was clear about what is this world/universe like and what was going to happen after death.<br /> "I'll never forget<br /> As you lay there and watched me<br /> Accepting the end<br /> I knew you were scared"<br /> Well, thank you, now I am scared a little bit. Probably the scariest lyrics in DT's history. James LaBrie wrote also Vacant, short but so sad song full of hopelessness.<br /> James, I want to understand you more.
@godscoward I found a conversation where James LaBrie himself described what is this song about and how he got an idea to write such lyrics. If it's surely him I don't know. There's no guarantee but I feel it starting to take over me ;)<br /> <br /> jameslabrie.com/forum/index.php
None of the songs on SDOIT besides Glass Prison are about the people who wrote them, and that includes this one. At least, in my opinion. This is simply a song about death and trying to move on from it.
But anyway, beautiful song. One of the very first ever to make me cry.
It´s about a guy losing his wife and saying farewell...
sietsey: i dont think this has anything to do with his life, its a good opinion but the line "let him come take you home" is referring to God and heaven. also "as you lay there" is either a death bed or hospital...
As of most of the songs on this album, and most Dream theater songs for that matter, The song is about a unhealthy psycological, emotional, state. This song can speak to people stuck in a secureless state. It speaks to me.
The song is about Moving on from the past. Accepting the world for what it is and being true to yourself. Taking yourself from the pain, but Accepting it, and embracing it.
In this case, James LaBrie Used the characters wife as the past, Her passing away becoming the pain and her acceptance being his medication.
This song is about DEATH~
I don't know what it is about, but it has made me cry once or twice.
one of my favorite dream theater songs
Wonderful song by these guys, just like everything else they make. Once I heard this, I could instantly connect with the lyrics because of a similar situation I was in. Except I didnt lose someone to death. James Labrie's best lyrics...granted he hasnt written that many DT songs.
