I feel insane every single time
I'm asked to compromise
'Cause I'm afraid and stuck in my ways
And that's the way it stays

So how long did I expect
Love to outweigh ignorance?
By that look on your face
I may have forced the scale to tip

I'm not insane, I'm not insane
I'm not insane, I'm not, not insane
(Mother)
Come back to me, it's almost easy
(Said it all)
Come back again, it's almost easy

Shame pulses through my heart
From the things I've done to you
It's hard to face but the fact remains
That this is nothing new

I left you bound and tied
With suicidal memories
Selfish beneath the skin
But deep inside I'm not insane

I'm not insane, I'm not insane
I'm not insane, I'm not, not insane
(Mother)
Come back to me, it's almost easy
(Said it all)

Come back again, it's almost easy
(You'll learn your lesson)
Come back to me, it's almost easy
(But first you'll fall)
Come back again, it's almost easy

Now that I've lost you, it kills me to say
(Hurts to say)
I've tried to hold on as you've slowly slipped away
I'm losing the fight, I've treated you so wrong
Now let me make it right
(Make it all right)

I'm not insane, I'm not insane
I'm not insane, I'm not, not insane
(Mother)
Come back to me, it's almost easy
(Said it all)

Come back again, it's almost easy
(You'll learn your lesson)
Come back to me, it's almost easy
(But still you'll fall)
Come back again, it's almost easy

ok, anyone who has a problem with this song or says its meaningless, listen again. This song, I gotta say, reminds me of a personal tragedy. my mom, my only parent, died when i was 17 this past august. When she died of cancer, I was there the minute she died; i went nuts, i started screaming; "come back' over and over, I fuckin threw something at one of the nurses, then collapsed. I freaked out, for days, and months, i'd just fuckin scream for no reason, cry, break down in the middle of crowded places, and I didnt know why. I was always sensible. I think the song is about a loss so deep, and so painful that it makes you feel like you're insane, but you're not, and you're trying to justify it, you're just missing someone close to you....just lonely, not insane.

Actually i completely agree with you Sleeptones. When i first heard the song, prior to seeing the video, i thought it was about like love or something. Maybe for some1 he lost. But after seeing the video, the song has a whole different meaning than what i thought.

"Come back to me its almost easy"(the devil trying to sway back those he lost), henceforth ppl are coming back to him and jumping into hell willingly. "Shame pulses through my heart, from the things i've done to you, its hard to face, but the fact remains that this is nothing new"(ppl know that in the religious battle, siding with the devil will eventually lead to a life of eternal torture and pain, yet its nothing new to them as they know what they are doing and do it anyways. "Now that I’ve lost you it kill me to say(Hurts to say) , I try to hold on as you slowly slip away. I’m losing the fight. I treated you so wrong, now let me make it right. (Make it all right",.. (in the bible, the devil is destined to lose against God,...to sway ppl back to him even tho he's hurt them, he will grant something to them. Its kinda like when you hear ppl say they sold their soul to the devil for something, whether it be fame, or who knows. So the devil will make it right, even if for a brief time period and eventually turn back to screwing you over,...thats why he keeps saying Come back to me its almost easy),...."I let you down inside with suicidal memories, Selfish beneath the skin, But deep inside I'm not insane." (another example of the devil hurting ppl and being selfish in his ways to sway more ppl to join him in hell,..but yet feels deep inside he's not insane)

Well, thats what i came up with as my theory of what the video is about. When i first heard the song, i thought, finally, avenged sevenfold isnt quoting the bible and making more personal music, but they are still using their biblical and religious references. Thats who they are though, great music, but u have to definately listen to it with open eyese and ears, especially if u personally dont agree with anything they are saying. And i thought the song was about like some1 he loved or something. But After seeing the video, if u really put together the lyrics and video it makes sense, and i think that the song is almost exactly like my theory.

    Song Meaning

A7X Frontman M. Shadows explains: “Lyrically, it’s about… people messing up a lot in their lives – they fucked up all the time, and sometimes, it’s easy to forgive those people – sometimes, it’s not. It’s always easy to say ‘you’re forgiven’, but deep in your heart, you don’t really want to forgive that person, because almost easy is the catchphrase. It’s almost easy to say, ‘okay, you’re forgiven’, or it’s almost easy to let go, or it’s almost easy just to give up.”

Not really happy with the direction a7x is going been a long time fan since wtf was released, but I have to admit its pretty catchy, and I love the intro to this song.

Anyway the lyrics seem pretty right on, and seems like he misses someone he truely loves... sounds pretty desperate... the feeling of wishing you can be with someone again that you were with before and wish things can just patch up so easily

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
