"Pinned down and abused For being strange" - Christ pinned to the cross for his beliefs.

"Our love is no other Than me alone For me all day" - Christ on the cross, alone in his thoughts, abandoned by the one he loves (God).
"Our love is no other Than me alone For me all day" - Christ on the cross, alone in his thoughts, abandoned by the one he loves (God).
"Our love is like water" - it always rains, just not all the time, like our love for God. It could also be a visual reference to the blood flowing down the cross, like water.
"Our love is like water" - it always rains, just not all the time, like our love for God. It could also be a visual reference to the blood flowing down the cross, like water.
"All over you all over me" - It could be visual imagery of blood flowing down the cross (all over you all over me); also "All over you", could be Jesus cursing God, for abandoning him ("all over me").
I've often tried to hold the sea" - it's a reference to Noah holding back the sea; but probably more a metaphor for Jesus' other great accomplishments.
"The sun the fields the sky" - God created all of these things; and this is probably what Jesus is looking at while he's speaking to God.
"Pay me now" - Jesus paid for our sins. "Lay me down" - Jesus laid to rest.
I love this song a bunch. Super raw.

"'Gone or Staying’ is the breaking point in a relationship that is built on emotions and broken promises. It is the struggle between wanting things to work and the need to move on,” the band explains.

It's definitely about the troubles and Britain's basic rule over anywhere they chose. ..Churchill was a prominent Rascist. I was born in 1971 as a Catholic in Belfast..White nigger was actually used in a pamphlet in the 1700s as propaganda by the British to describe an Irish man. Tbe portrait is comical..apparently features close to apes.... But to me ..the line .. It's no laughing matter when you've been on the murder Mile Is...so prolific . For Costello to even know that and still it's not spoke about. The murder Mile is in North Belfast from Carlisle circus up to just before the Cavehill....

Tbe portrait is comical..apparently features close to apes.... But to me ..the line .. It's no laughing matter when you've been on the murder Mile Is...so prolific . For Costello to even know that and still it's not spoke about. The murder Mile is in North Belfast from Carlisle circus up to just before the Cavehill. Its a square mile. Within thst area..it was predominantly Catholic. There was a serial killer Lenny Murphy..he belonged to the Shankill Butchers. All from..the Shankill rd ....side by side to this area. They were butchers by nature..but had a vitriolic hatred of ..Fenians ..Catholics. In a book written.. they only name 12 members but others were named by Mr A etc..the full alphabet and then a second set. So that's almost 40 members. They went out in a black taxi with butchering knives totally drunk fuelled by bloodlust. And in the 70s not alot of people walked home late. They picked on drunk men. Would hot them over head from behind . Then Butcher them in such an appalling manner . Heads almost severed on a praying pose. Usually outside an entry. They operated for maybe 7 or more years. My family on both sides were affected. A young boy 17 years old from my next street was gutted..yards from his mum and dad's house. A protestant police man set uo the first ever vice squad to hunt this man The leader was eventually outed by his own community. His name Lenny Murphy. His father was Catholic and his hatred consumed him. So ..the murder Mile is very disturbing for alot of us from North Belfast. Costello to be so prolific is wonderful. Hua use of the slur is meant to show how even after the butchers..Catholics in Belfast are referred to . He's meaning to shock. The full lyrics are referring to Britain's..arrogance and detriment to so many countries. . With no reference to anyone.
I have to chime in here. I always thought well it’s slayer so it has to be something sick. But reading the lyrics and meaning it sounds like deer hunting to me. Head on my wall. On your trail , Making you a part of me which some deer hunters do something sacred I’m told , dismemberment. Maybe I’m wrong here.

"'World Ablaze' tells the story of a man who has lived all his life inside a cage, knowing that one day, he'd be set free to experience the world with its true colors," said Gaerea of the single. "Unfortunately, he also knows that day will be his last hours alive."

1.) This eludes to playing a game and the negative connotations of playing games in a relationship.

2.) "Move" in the sense of "change" - the subject of the song insists that it is the protagonist that has to make all the changes in their realtionship.

This song delves into themes of power, wealth, and the destructive nature of greed. The song speaks to the idea that in modern society, power and money have become the ultimate goals, driving individuals to ascend to the top at any cost. According to Biff Byford, it's about debt collectors and stock brokers, talking about how they use their funds to build massive skyscrapers (cathedrals in their own way.)
