I think this song is about a breakup that she just can’t seem to forget.
Their story starts at the beginning of October/November when it is in the transition from autumn to winter. She visits his house one day and it feels like home to her. She can be herself with him and the two of them are like best friends as they sing/dance in the car without a care in the world.
This is obviously a memory from the distant past as the relationship is no more now, but she can still remember it clearly. She knows that as time goes on she should simply forget and move on like in all relationships but she can’t. So she acts like everything is okay but it really isn’t.
