Every day she takes a morning bath she wets her hair
Wraps a towel around her as she's heading for the bedroom chair
It's just another day
Slipping into stockings, stepping into shoes
Dipping in the pocket of her raincoat
It's just another day
At the office where the papers grow she takes a break
Drinks another coffe and she finds it hard to stay awake
It's just another day

Do do do do do do, it's just another day
Do do do do do do, it's just another day

So sad, so sad
Sometimes she feels so sad
Alone in her apartment she'd dwell
Till the man of her dreams come to break the spell
Ah, stay, don't stand her up
And he comes and he stays but he leaves the next day
So sad
Sometimes she feels so sad

As she posts another letter to the sound of five
People gather 'round her and she finds it hard to stay alive
It's just another day

Do do do do do do, it's just another day
Do do do do do do, it's just another day

So sad, so sad
Sometimes she feels so sad
Alone in her apartment she'd dwell
Till the man of her dreams come to break the spell
Ah, stay, don't stand her up
And he comes and he stays but he leaves the next day
So sad
Sometimes she feels so sad

Every day she takes a morning bath she wets her hair
Wraps a towel around her as she's heading for the bedroom chair
It's just another day
Slipping into stockings, stepping into shoes
Dipping in the pocket of her raincoat
It's just another day

Do do do do do do, it's just another day
Do do do do do do, it's just another day

This song is so perfect at describing a life. A single woman loves a man who comes and goes without ever committing to her in any way. Due to this, everything else in her life kind of fades into a blur around her as she becomes worn down by the situation with the man. She's feeling like her life is just a permanent lull. Monotonous, boring, always the same, filled only with her work. Every day is "just another day" in a long series of days exactly like the one before it. I love how the lyrics focus on the tiny details of getting ready for her day. Those details are all that make up most of her life. The kind of sadness associated with this concept is expressed very well in a clever way using that kind of imagery.

I sometimes find myself relating to this song, because at times, a situation can just cast a huge shadow over everything else in life and then the days just all seem the same because the fog of it paints everything in the same boring haze.
