(The blind lead the)
Blind

(The blind lead the blind)

It’s kinda sad to see this all going down
Hard to watch the blind lead the blind into the ground
And it’s not so much that I even feel sorry for you
but for the innocent minds you’ve misaligned away from the truth

No regard for the lies you’re feeding
No respect for the needs they’re needing
They can’t see cuz their eyes are bleeding
Their hope destroyed as you lead them into the void

I’ll step back, I'll let you by
And watch with sad amusement as blind lead the blind

So don’t waste my time
Trying to justify yourself
The blind lead the blind
Straight into the mouth of hell
All the truth you redefined, the false idols you’ve enshrined
The blind lead the blind
Blind with pride, misguide, the blind lead the blind

When the blind lead the blind

Feed the need to scratch the itch
You’re a star, they make their wish
Fool them with the bait and switch
Lead the blind into the ditch

So don’t waste my time
Trying to justify yourself
The blind lead the blind
Straight into the mouth of hell
All the truth you redefined, the false idols you’ve enshrined
The blind lead the blind
Blind with pride, misguide, the blind lead the blind

Blind with pride, misguide, the blind lead the blind

Multi-musician Klayton who is Celldweller says of this track; "I know I’m not the only one who feels that the world has been descending further into chaos and uncertainty. In an age of rampant misinformation and distrust, I feel more than ever that we are watching the “Blind Lead the Blind”."

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
