As I'm lying here, end of life, I'm becoming cold
To pass the gate on a journey I must go
In the veil I walk and it all seems so surreal
As I'm lying here, no more pain I have to feel

And in the dark I saw a shimmering light
The eyes of fire
That will lead me through the night
So carry me

Take me over, for I have paid my sues
Take me over, for this is my last will
Take me over, into the depth of the dark
Where I may lay to rest, for my soul and heart

Into the realm of death far beyond life
To face the abyss into this journey I will dive,
To find my destiny and the place where I belong
I pass the gate to the void of the unknown

And on the shores
I saw a thousand souls
Haunting through the nights since a hundred years ago
So carry me

Take me over, for I have paid my sues
Take me over, for this is my last will
Take me over, into the depth of the dark
Where I may lay to rest, for my soul and heart

The loss of life may seem eternal in our minds
As we stare into eternity
So you arrive with all the pain you've left behind
You remain beyond mortality

Take me over, for I have paid my sues
Take me over, for this is my last will
Take me over, into the depth of the dark
Where I may lay to rest, for my soul and heart

    My Interpretation

Elysium is a conception of the afterlife that developed over time and was maintained by some Greek religious and philosophical sects & cults. In this song, it\'s someone calling out for Elysium to take over, for life after death to rescue their soul from a black endless abyss.
