In regards to the meaning of this song:
Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.”
That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.
How many ways and how many words?
Safe in your lies but can't ignore it all
You aren't at all right
Ten million other lives, ooh
Well, it's too much to lose
Ooh, it's time, or self-destruct
They don't care what the science says
They don't wanna talk, no
'Cause this time, ready or not
This time, you fought us all
'Cause this time, you aren't at all right
You aren't at all right
Ten million other lives
How can we save
And how in this time
The lessons we've learned
To rescue the mind before it's gone
Well, it's too much to lose
Ooh, it's time, or self-destruct
They don't care what the science says
They don't wanna talk, no
Well, it's too much to lose
Ooh, it's time, or self-destruct
They don't care what the science says
They don't wanna talk
'Cause this time, ready or not
This time, you fought us all
'Cause this time, you're doubling down
And this time you'll work alone
'Cause this time, you aren't at all
Right
It's like war
It's like war
Bite your tongue
This Nosferatu, ancient ways
It's minimal, these stomach knots
Ooh, this conscience can't hide from his soul
'Til now
It's like war
It's like war
It's like war
It's like war
It's like
Bite you tongue, mmh
'Cause this time, ready or not
This time, you fought us all
'Cause this time, you're doubling down
And this time, you aren't at all right
You aren't at all right
Safe in your lies but can't ignore it all
You aren't at all right
Ten million other lives, ooh
Well, it's too much to lose
Ooh, it's time, or self-destruct
They don't care what the science says
They don't wanna talk, no
'Cause this time, ready or not

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines:
"Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet"
So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other:
"I had all and then most of you"
Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart
"Some and now none of you"
Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship.
This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"
Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere.
In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.
Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988.
"'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it."
"There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
When We Were Young

This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.
Vocalist Pete Loeffler told about "Self Destructor" in an interview for Loudwire Nights, "The song was actually written in 2019 so it's just strangely coincidental that it fits so well with 2020 being what it was. It's hard not to find that in everything now. I'll give you one thing though. It focuses on science deniers (A person who openly denies results published by the global scientific community, usually for economic or political reasons), and you guys can run with that.
"Well, it's too much to lose<br /> Ooh, it's time for self-destruct<br /> They don't care what the science says<br /> They don't wanna talk, no"<br /> <br /> (Climate deniers don't care what the science says, it's too much to be wrong, they'd rather self-destruct)<br /> <br /> 'Cause this time, ready or not<br /> This time, you fought us all<br /> 'Cause this time, you want it all, right<br /> You want it all, right<br /> Ten million other lives<br /> <br /> (Sea level displacement is expected to effect 10million people with a 1-2* Celsius increase [350 . org/science/]<br /> <br /> How can we save<br /> And how in this time<br /> The lessons we've learned<br /> To rescue the mind before it's gone<br /> <br /> (How can we save what we have left, with so little time remaining. How can we convince others to set aside tribalism long enough to achieve common goals?)
@EternalTearsOfSorrow although it was written before Covid. This song fits perfectly well with everything that is happening now. The Global Elites have waged war on us. Releasing the virus, and killing off the population in mass with the clot shots. Climate change is all about control. If you actually look into the “climate change” science, humans have very little impact on the temperature of the planet. Hence the people pushing the agenda flying around in private jets that emit more emissions than you do driving your car for a year. Also electric cars create more carbon from power plants to charge them than burning gasoline does. Wake up Sheeple
