Hold up, wait a minute, put a little love in it

Doctor, doctor, I've got an emergency
It seems I'm head over heels, a case of L-O-V-E
It's like I'm glowing inside
Yeah, a light I can't hide
And if this feeling is bad then I don't wanna be right
What I've got in my soul gives me the highest delight
Oh yeah it's better than drugs
In fact it's sent from above

Hold up, wait a minute, put a little love in it

Hey, can't kick the habit
Yeah, I got to have it
Yeah, I'm what they call a
Love addict, love addict
Hey, can't live without it
Yeah, g'on, shout about it
Hey, I'm a symptomatic
Love addict, love addict

Need a refill 'cause I just can't get enough
I've got a fever, oh yeah and the prescription's love
So lay the truth on me
'Cause that is all that I need

Hold up, wait a minute, put a little love in it

Hey, can't kick the habit
Yeah, I got to have it
Yeah, I'm what they call a
Love addict, love addict
Hey, can't live without it
Yeah, g'on, shout about it
Hey, I'm a symptomatic
Love addict, love addict

I'm blessed, I must confess
My heart is pounding in my chest
'Cause this love's the best
I'm just a love addict

Coming down with something outrageous
Look out now 'cause it's so contagious
This feeling's got me reeling
So amped up that I hit the ceiling
Gotta clear my throat
Now I gotta have some more

Hold up, wait a minute, put a little love in it

Hey, can't kick the habit
Yeah, I got to have it
Yeah, I'm what they call a
Love addict, love addict
Hey, can't live without it
Yeah, g'on, shout about it
Hey, I'm a symptomatic
Love addict, love addict

Can't kick the habit
Yeah, I got to have it
Yeah, I'm what they call a
Love addict, love addict
Hey, can't live without it
Yeah, g'on, shout about it
Hey, I'm a symptomatic
Love addict, love addict

Hey SoulGlow, where is your soul glow? Is that a copy from the "SOUL GLOW ACTIVATOR"(lead singers nickname) This song is for sure about God!

Ok so first off, the second "Doctor, Doctor" is capitalized (even on the CD lyrics) which refers to Jesus or God. In the line, "Yeah, a light I can't hide" You can say that love is like light, but in John 1:4-5 it says, "In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it." That light that he can't hide is love, which is the life in Jesus, LOVE. Two lines down in the first verse it says, "What I've got in my soul gives me the highest delight" I don't think that worldly love has any association with a persons soul, but the love of God saved the souls of men. (Deuteronomy 6:5) Also it says "delight", not satisfaction, not happiness. Another two lines down the song says, "In fact it's sent from above, huh huh" Is there any other love that comes form "above", other than Gods love? In 1 John 4:8 and 4:16 is states that God is love. He is addicted to God!
When he says he is a symptomatic it means he is showing the symptoms of whatever is inside him. (dictionary.reference.com/browse/symptomatic) We all have sin, so I think the prescription to kill that sin is love.

In the second verse in says, "So lay the truth on me, Cause that is all that I need" The truth is part of the prescription. In John 8:31-32 it says, "Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, If you abide in my word, you are my disciples. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." And again in John (the disciple of love) 14:6 is reads, "Jesus said to him(thomas), "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. "(All NKJV) So Jesus is the truth. I believe that the bible, the word of God, is also the truth. I don't see how a person can put all these attributes into the worlds empty hopeless love. Hope it helped explain things.

And SoulGlow, let the Love of God glow inside of you! "Yeah, a light I can't hide"

    -Praise the Lord-

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
