Great Western Wind catches in your Celtic hair
Flicks it round your face like flames around the sun
In the bright cold air you seem as innocent and fair
As Rita Tushingham in 1961

Well, Lynsey Wells
How I wish that I could feel so good
I wish that I could be as good as you
Well, Lynsey Wells
How I wish that I could feel the good
Beyond the poison in us like you do

LP records in your little hands
Put them on your little dansette for a dance
All those men sing you'll never walk alone
But you'll never let them break your little heart.

Well, Lynsey Wells
How I wish that I could feel so good
I wish that I could be as good as you
Well, Lynsey Wells
How I wish that I could feel the good
Beyond the poison in us like you do

If you have some sort of secret
If you need someone to tell
You can tell me
Because my memory
Always fails
I will forget
And your secret
Will remain
Yes the secret
The secret
Will remain

Well, Lynsey Wells
How I wish that I could feel so good
I wish that I could be as good as you
Well, Lynsey Wells
How I wish that I could feel the good
Beyond the poison in us like you do

I absolutely adore this song. Definitely my favourite right now. I would love to be Lynsey Wells right now. Imagine having such a beautiful song written about you...The video is fab, too. I'm gonna get my hair cut like hers.

Well, they say it's about a girl named Lynsey Wells (surprise!) Bob went to the GSA with.

    Reeks of the Beatles...

love the first stanza, especially the celtic hair line. definitely beatles-esque, but you can tell they added their own flavor to it.

Isn't the title of this song L. Wells? Anyway, I love this new track, incredibly happy, and it's even overtaken The Fallen as my favorite Franz track.

Great sing-along song, should go over well in pubs on karaoke night (even though I'm still waiting for "Walk Away" to appear on the lists).

If you listen closely, it seems as though Lynsey's happiness is a cover for something very, very dark. The video was a fantastic match for this song, and everyone gets a big thumbs-up on this one.

I always thought that he was being sarcastic in the chorus...

Standing On The Edge Of Summer

In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.
