Lyric discussion by nathan1149

Hmmm ... not sure about some of the lyrics as written.

First verse, I always heard 'kıss, kiss, kiss, kiss, kiss . . .Oooh, what I'm after.', coming directly after the line about being much faster. Makes sense, if the white girls are shy about kissing and it goes no further. The french here doesn't make a lot of sense. Remember , they decided to take over the world instead of learning French in 'Machine'?

Second verse: Always heard 'Here comes a little faggot white boy/ look, look, look for some kind of joy/ Come around so queer and quiet/inside, rebel and riot'. Think Gano's talking about himself? Other lyrics suggest not all the Femmes are totally heterosexual, but none more than these. And, you do get the idea that, as a high school misfit, the guy who got expelled from the honor society for playing 'gimme the car' was torn between going along with the establishment and telling them to fuck themselves.

I dig the white boys/oh so much more than the black boys, neither of whom are particularly bright when it comes to resisting advances.. Hard to make this verse about anything but gay sex. Give it to me harder.

And, after all the transgression, comes the religion. On face value, protecting the singer from the sins of the song. But - ı was so pleased to learn he's inside me? Perhaps the singer finds something religious/divine in being boned? Anyway, this duality is nothing new for the femmes, especially not on the 'Hallowed Ground' album.
