The way they sing about it in this almost happy tone, like the words are almost sarcastic. Or the singer feels somewhat stupid for trying to reason with nature. The way the song is put together with the bass in the beginning is like slow a creeping storm, and as the song continues the solo's get faster and hectic until the singer is almost tired of asking why its gotta be mean, because ultimately he knows Katrina is never gonna explain why it did what it did to New Orleans.
