I think this song is about letting yourself go. You have many stressful things in your life and you just need to let go. She says "Spread your wings and learn how to fly", meaning, to get away and find yourself. The bridge in this song is really important."Buildings with 100 floors, swinging around revolving doors, baby I don't know where they'll take me." This means that she needs to follow the path and go with the flow, and cant take any pressure anyone gives to her. The chorus is the most important because she knows that getting away from everything that brings darkness in her life is very hard, but she needs to spread her wings, and take a risk, because she needs to now. She won't forget about the ones she loves and bring happiness, but she needs to get away from everything for now. The second verse is important too because it talks about everything that will bring you happiness, and what you want to do and what you think is happiness.

Basically, this song is telling you to find yourself. When you feel like you are going to explode, just breakaway. Because it's a risk to just get away from everyone, and just fade away. That its okay to cry when you want to breakdown, that, it's okay. You need to get out of all the darkness in your life, and move away. Then when you're strong enough, you can comeback. You let the wind take you, and as the song says, Breakaway. You let fate do its job. As the chorus says, it's not easy to say goodbye, but you need to go, because it's better for you, to feel better. Therefore, you just to Breakaway and find yourself.
