I think this song I so metaphorical and I love it.
I think that the first part of the song is him telling someone that he will always be there for them no matter how much they hurt him.
The chorus he is obviously speaking to someone that he cares for dearly and just wants them to say that they care for him back.
The next verse I took as he is stuck inside of his mind and he wants to find a way out but he is trapped within his life and hes just trying to act like he is okay.
The third verse I took as he feels he doesn't look his best and he doesn't want whomever he is singing to, to see him like that, but they keep coming back.
