While you may have thought it was some syfi or past life stuff because he said he killed the robots maybe, but that line is about a tour (who killed the robots) that he had dropped out of so he says i killed the robots. He had to leave the tour inorder to cope with his mental depression that he is suffering from or was suffering some. So this song is literally him just pouring his heart out to these 4 friends who literally saved him from possibly killing himself
