I have a very painful personal reference to this song and I think it is about someone who's secretly gay and has feelings for someone who's openly gay. The openly gay person has already confessed but he/she wasn't ready to be out of the closet yet.

I really like this interpretation RKMe - it's really beautiful. For me, it could also be about a homosexual man or woman in a heterosexual relationship who feels he can't come out. There are parts of it that remind me of coming out to my mother too... Anyhow, thanks for posting, I wouldn't have thought about it the same way unless you had!

I really like this interpretation RKMe - it's really beautiful. For me, it could also be about a homosexual man or woman in a heterosexual relationship who feels he can't come out.
