my interpretation to this song is somewhat different to everyone elses.to me it talks about his life. - it's my direction,it's my proposal,it's so hard,'it's leading me astray.to me it says-,it's the way i'm going,i've chose that route,it's hard and i'm going down the wrong path.my obsession,it's my creation,you'll understand,it's not important now says to me - it's the route i'm going down,i've made it that way and whether you listen or not, it makes no difference bacause tht's the way i'm going.all i need is co-ordination,i can't imagine my destination,my intention,ask my opinion,theres no excuse,my feeling still remains says to me - i need to pick the right route but i don't know where i'm going to end up.what i say i'm going to do,i'll do.you can ask why,i've no excuses for it, but that's the way i feel and i'll just carry on regardless.
is this a strange interpretation because to me it explains my life.

I have to say I like your interpretation the most. I've been researching the lyrics and meaning of this song for a while now to see if anyone else's interpretations match my own thoughts about it.
I received this song on a CD sent from my friend in England after having received a first CD filled with romantic songs that we argued over the meaning of. I was sure he meant them with romantic intention, but he tried to dissuade me. He's told me of his shyness and confidence issues relation to a social anxiety condition. This instance has led me to believe this song is about the regret of a man who is too afraid and confused by his own iniquities to have the courage to be with the person he has feelings for. "I can't imagine my destination." He's unsure of the feelings reciprocated by the other, and he doesn't know how to put his emotions into action. This all figures in with " It's leading me astray, my obsession, my creation." He's gone the wrong way about it, and is perplexed by the burden of emotions he can't get rid of or deny to himself. "It's no excuse, my feelings still remain" imply that he admits he's tried to hide his true emotions and despite the obstacles of his fear and weakness, he still has feelings for this person. Any thoughts?
