I really like this song, it's just so dark, passionate, beautifully done and tragic. I think it's about the loss of someone he loved, but instead of it being just a break up, I think that person died. "Wake up look me in the eyes again", here he's pleading for her to not be dead, to 'wake up', because he can't accept the fact that (s)he's is dead. "Words can be like knives" I think he's remembering the last words that his love said to him, and how "they can cut you open". "The silence surrounds you , and holds you", The silence is death not letting him/her go either. "I think I might've inhaled you, I could feel you behind my eyes, You gotten into my bloodstream, I could feel you floating in me," he is referring to how much he loves her/him, it's like a drug, and that because of that he can't just let her go. Then he talks about how different they were, but he loves that much more. HE says he's "Tried to put his finger on it", he doesn't understand what part of him/her is so addictive, but it is, and that feeling is what he can't let go of.
