When Madonna is all alone with her acoustic guitar-in this case-that is when she is at her absolute saddest. My favorite song from American Life, X-Static Process is once again, natch-about her mother's death. Our Lady Cries the Detroit Rock City Blues and she is angry at Jesus because He took away her mother. Madonna is crying and sad-all alone with her guitar and she is beside herself. She can't do anything about it now-she doesn't know what to do with herself. She is Wet. She is Sad. She is Angry. She is Enraged. She is trying to forgive Him but doesn't quite know how. She is at odds with her faith. She comes to terms that her mother is Gone. Yet Madonna Lives to Tell, Promises to Try and Takes a Bow knowing she will not forget her mother. In the end the once and future Wallis Evita Ciccone cries "I always Wish that I Can find someone as beautiful and talented as you but in the Process I Forgot that I was special too and just as good as you!" Madonna cries an MDNA Confeesion Ray of Light Prayer and lives her life with grace. Madonna believes in forgiveness and that's ok! Madonna will be just fine!
