Lyric discussion by Adriannamariex0

"I'd rather be working for a paycheck, than waiting to win the lottery" doesn't mean he would rather settle or have to work to have a successful relationship instead of just winning the lottery in love. I'm sure winning the lottery would be exhilarating, but when you've invested time, effort, and love into something instead of it just being handed to you, it is often more gratifying (to myself at least). Also, working for a paycheck could mean going after what he wants, a true love, and instead of waiting to win the lottery meaning he isnt going to sit around and wait for his dream girl or the love of his life to just waltz in and they live happily ever after. We cherish the things we invest ourselves in the most.
