Lyric discussion by Aletheas

Like the other posts I agree. The only addition is that the pressure is blood, or in other words the pressure is coming from a family member. He feels pressure from his parents to be like his brother-all blood relationships and sometimes the hardest relationships to reconcile when sibling rivalry is part of the equation. To be really analytical though I am curious why the writer focuses on two things--to be better--to do a little more for Jesus. I wonder if the writer thinks he can please his parents by "doing a little more for Jesus even though that will mean nothing to Jesus since he does believe in Him. What is apparent here is the writer's confusion and frustration. His parents dearly want him to find God and be saved. His parents want him to whole-heartedly love God and do more for HIm because their son loves God. But like every single one of us......we have all "gone astray" and don't really love God...at least not the God who calls Himself Jesus Christ. This pressure the writer is dealing with is on all of us to reconcile with God...and since He is our Father it is indeed blood pressure.
