Another meaning i thought of, which i believe happens soooo much, is that we don't realize what we have until its gone. Maybe this guy liked you and kept flirting with you and you told him all the time that you weren't interested, and once he stopped, you started to feel for him once he stopped. (or vice versa)
I've experienced this feeling soo much in my life (not necessarily in this context) but i'm pretty sure the rest of you have felt this before, too.
