So he's drunk after the party, hopeless, and miserable with himself since he's ashamed of lending money to women he doesn't care for "after awhile they all seem the same" which also means this girl in the song is "different" to him. And then he just tries to explain himself saying he needs someone there for him and he's apologizing for being so reckless to her but in reality she's already found a good man which explains the
