sirius and venus already have the connection of being the two brightest lights out in our night sky.
and lunar children is already a pre-existing term often used of 'alien'/'there's something out there' enthusiasts among each other.
and, I might of course be wrong on this, but I've always thought that he sings "emp from the mother and SUN" (as in mother earth) this would point towards solar flares/sunspots which are indeed, effect-wise, an e.m.p.
They say the solar storms will come in 2010-2020. which is the same period when greg bear predicts the next generation of homo sapiens sapiens will start. (aka the indigo children will born. in masses not as single cases)
any connection here, maybe?
