good job with these. i just hear this part reversed, like so:

i am nothing without pretend i know my THOUGHTS can't live with them i am nothing without a man i know my FAULTS but i can't hide them (also thought she was saying CAN here, but not sure)

you're right about them being reversed. she also does say can and not can't

My quibble is minor, but I believe correct: "Pretend" should lead the second line, not end the first. [I am nothing without], [Pretend I know my thoughts].

I second TheWrongGirl's edit. And you're right about [Can] as opposed to [Can't].

As for [A man] vs. [Amend], it's most definitely [A man]. If it were [amend], it would be plural, not singular, and [A man] fits better within the context.
