People get really stupid with comments like "they are sell outs", "they are trying to be more pop"... EVERY artist wants to be listened to by as many people as possible, it would be stupid if they played the same style for their entire careers, musicians get bored and they like to experiment.
They have come to realize that it doesn't matter what purists think of them.
"You know to keep your hopes up high and your head down low" they can't be more straight forward than that, that's a lesson for life.
