I always felt it was a cry for help before suicide because of the following lyrics, and there are many:
-"theres too much that I keep to myself and I turn my back on my faith" depressed people usually keep their problems to themselves and lose faith in everything
-"..when we break, I wish no one in my place" an obvious relationship break up
-"when the dirt goes in deep" also the alternative lyrics of "when the cut goes in deep and I'm lost in sleep" pretty straight forward reference to wrist cutting
-"I can't stay in this place, I can't stand when the room turns round on my fate" a depressed person doesn't want to stay in their life, they feel their world spinning or closing in on them
-"I can't see my way, I feel blind" as anyone who is unhappy with life would feel
-"I can't stay too long, am I wrong" wants understanding for wanting to leave this life
-"goodbye, lay the blame on luck" simple goodbye, not wanting to lay blame on anyone in particular
