in my experience the people who exist the characteristics that you are implying they posses would not press those on a record to the masses. you're entitled to your opinion but you missed an obvious part of steely dan. you're probably new to them.

@highlyselassie Becker's longtime girlfriend who OD's was not underage. Her name appears in the credits of early Steely Dan albums so she was at least in her twenties, probably thirties. His getting hit by a taxi a year or so later was unrelated. I have no idea about his personal life except that by the early 80s he was married and had two kids.
