Why hello there soul - wasn't aware you were moonlighting as lyrics for Sara Bareilles.

But seriously, every word of this song is singing out to my soul.

It's definitely a song about wanting a fresh start, not even like a life makeover, but trying to get back the inner strength that you've, for whatever reason, lost/misplaced. It's about letting go of the past, like there is a giant dark rain cloud hanging over your head tormenting you and reminding you of your mistakes, hardships, and general life turmoil and you're like, you know what, you don't control me. I won't have you hanging over my head. RAIN DOWN. Because guess what, when it's over, you're going to dry out, the ground will be new and fresh, and I'm going to walk on.

You appreciate the sunshine so much more after a heavy downpour.

You just summed it up perfectly. My soul. This song.

Beautiful interpretation. :)
