For anybody who wants a bit more background into the meaning of this quote, and why it's on the album, it is because as you said, it was from Robert Oppenheimer, and he quoted this after witnessing the first atomic bomb detonation test in desert New Mexico:

"We knew the world would not be the same. A few people laughed, a few people cried, most people were silent. I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad-Gita. Vishnu is trying to persuade the Prince that he should do his duty, and to impress him, takes on his multi-armed form, and says, 'Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.' I suppose we all thought that, one way or another."

Another line, (not mentioned in the track) from this was:

"If the radiance of a thousand suns were to burst at once into the sky, that would be like the splendor of the mighty one."

Which gives both the song and album name.

very informative!!!! thank you!!!!!! it makes alot of sense!

It's in my opinion that this is the quote made very soon after witnessing the biggest change in human history, in that by creating and witnessing this bomb detonate, the people in the bunker that day in New Mexico realised that humans now had the power to completely erradicate all life on the planet...

It kind of makes me wonder what would have happened if we never developed such a terrifing, deadly weapon...
