i agree with killedbyjude about it being about a break-up. i notice that the narrator feels guilty about wanting out of a relationship. "evil's in my pocket and your strength is in my hand" suggests he can so easily and quickly hurt this person by admitting he's not happy in the relationship any more. his partner will probably be shocked by that kind of announcement, hence the guilt aspect. a beautiful song and the album is one of the best i've heard in this genre, maybe even of all time.
