It means to me that if you forget your relationship with God, and become consumed by the world we live in, a shallow world where there seems to be an almost 'anything goes' type of attitude, at some stage you are going to feel a great emptiness, the world won't be able to fill the void in you, nor take away the darkness. It will take you to begin your relationship with Jesus again,and keep it, only then will you feel like the garbage in you has been excreted.
