The line about the black president strikes me as the sort of response one might give to an uppity anti-American European.

Haha yeah, I like that line. LCD Soundsystem is more popular in the UK and Europe than he is in the US, so I like it when James Murphy reps for the states, as in this song and in "North American Scum," where he reminds his European fans that "for those of you who still think [LCD Soundsystem is] from England... we're not," and that they are, in fact, "North American scum."

Obviously neither song is actually meant as a serious diss to Europeans, it's just a bit of playful trans-atlantic banter.
