Now for the meaning, I agree with you who say its about writer's block, and that hes describing his writing process for lyrics throughout the song as evident by "waiting for words to come..." But I think this song goes deeper, it's something maybe here in this community isn't so welcome, I am talking about the part where Anthony writes
"I can't wait to understand the reason
I've yet to translate any meaning besides
It's not worth it to try"
I've heard in interviews about how he doesn't know how he comes up with this shit. Look it up on youtube. The meaning is that it's not worth it to even assign a meaning to a song. Anthony says this because once the song gets out so many people will look at it and take their own meaning for it, making his own original meaning just another one of many, the artist's meaning doesnt matter in a way. My argument is supported also by the when he says "still making sense to anyone" to tie it all together the whole thing about the room and sunlight and breathing is I think he's saying daylight is inspiring, but I think the tracking time with sunlight idea is very interesting it doesnt seem to fit with the rest of it. He is telling the reader to get out, get outside in the sunlight as he has, if you were to call the song congruent, and it is easier to breathe outside, symbolically though,speculating here Anthony is saying to get out there to live, breathe is necessary to us and its easier to breathe outside so get out there do things, breathe, write do your thing.
