I hate to say it, but I really don't think it goes that deep. Common names? Yes. It'd be the same as saying 'Tom, Dick & Harry' in reference to 3 random people. I dont think it has any sort of deeper Biblical reference (even less regarding people seeing Britney as Jesus and her fans as her mentioned followers).
Peter, Paul & Mary were a folk singing group of the 60's.Anyhow, I find it very doubtful that Britney herself or the writers of this garbage (we call a song) would make a literal suggestion to Biblical characters, they are probably way below that type of thinking. I think this song sends a horrible message to our youth, especially with the line "livin in sin is the new thing". Are you serious Britney would you let your children listen to this crap?
