This is such a wonderful song in oh so many ways.

I agree so much, but I see it in a very different way. Think of it from this perspective like a man talking to himself and his fears and insecurities:

It's empty in the valley of your heart The sun, it rises slowly as you walk Away from all the fears And all the faults you've left behind

*He didn't deal with his fears and faults, he ignored them and they act as an anchor.

hey what are yall talking bout??

I think the great thing about this song is that it can be interpreted in SO many different ways, and is very easily related to. For me, it reminded me of the emotions someone close to me went through when trying to move on from their drug addiction...like:

It's empty in the valley of your heart The sun, it rises slowly as you walk Away from all the fears And all the faults you've left behind *They're finally beginning to leave behind that dark life of drugs, and moving towards a new beginning, with the sun coming up.
