It reminds me of an affair. Sneaking around to be together, feeling like your taking advantage of someone if you're not free to love them fully. And 'falling onto your knees' could be the forgiveness for the situation. The same could be said of the bible. I suppose that the addiction will never be gone line is said for the fact that there will always be that want, but no matter how much you try to break from it, it's still going to be in the back of your head and you'll want it just a badly as the last time.
