Lyric discussion by rockersx4

I agree with spacedoilies in a way, although i think the lyrics are more about rape, incest, and other sexual crimes -- in general. While at times i feel as though saul takes the part of one of the young boys who "marked" this girl, I believe he doesn't remain that character for the rest of the poem. He jumps around, talking about this poor girl Mary, who's brother "left footprints on the inside of his sister's eyelids" then he talks about himself and a rediscovery or awakening. Most of the lyrics are vague, like most of saul's stuff, however I can't help but feel incredibly sad after listening to this. I get the feeling as though nothing is better and all the characters in the story are forever en route to a better place, never actually finding it.
