Lyric discussion by JGivs09

Well I think you've all made excellent translations and interpretations of the lyrics, I just wanted to express what I thought about the "In the order of the primates, all our politics are too late."

Personally, I see this as a call to humans to stop and realize, that the desire to be in a position of power, is useless. Futile if you will. In nature, there are no politics, only to survive and reproduce. We get so caught up in the details of life that we don't realize that politics should be the last thing on our minds, but from a sociological standpoint, are the first. -cite current election- :)

Awesome song though!

JGivs I posted my interpretation and then read yours... You really hit on what i was thinking about the "in the order of the primates" line as well.

i can see that a little but the first thing i thought of when i read it was this:

hes kinda saying that us trying to figure out our order in the primates (somewhat evolution minded sounding) is too little and too late. its already happened so let it be what it is and enjoy the present that God has gifted us with. when you spend all your time worrying about the past you lose your present. (pun intended)

i dunno if it makes sense to yall but it does in my mind.
