You'll come upon some hard times where nothing seems to be working out, but you have to keep telling yourself that it will be worth it in the end. That would make sense with the "Remind yourself that you're not just in it for the money" line, like you're also in it for the 'love of the game.' Could be a lot of things, but I really love this song & Turin Brakes in general.

sometimes i relate this song to my friend who is down all the time because he feels imprisoned in his home due to lack of money, i wish he'd spend more time reminding himself of the things he has, life's so short.
