Lyric discussion by Q12

The song becomes something like a description of her life and how he perceived her and her qualities. The song stands out as a tribute and it’s obvious that he’s talking about a specific person. The chorus “Won't you come on home, I built us a flying machine. And well go where you want, we'll sail the seven seas. I hope all is well, in Daisy's dreams” is longing for her to come back, but at the same time wishing her well. It is not until the last verse, where he says “She took to the stars” we realise that she’s actually passed. The lyrics in this song are clever as he addresses a tragic circumstance but in a beautiful way, creating not a sad feeling because she’s gone, but a celebration of the person she was. Pretty amazing, if you ask me.
