This song is very good and I know it kindof just sounds like one of those really cute and well written love songs, but..
I actually think it's about someone who is trying to fill a void. Like, when you lose a love, you want it back, so you try to make yourself or convince yourself to love someone else. In this case, he's asking her to go to the seaside because that's where he fell in love before and maybe it could happen again, and maybe this big void of what he used to have can be filled.
