Lyric discussion by drewdc

I've always loved this song, and I agree that its general thrust is about making the most of your opportunities in life before it's too late. But I've also always been mystified by the line, "Find romance, fake it." Can anyone explain why he wants us to "fake" romance? It just seems out of place in the context of the song.

@drewdc I know its been many years since you asked this question, but here's a link to a page where the lyricist explains the meaning. The "fake it" part is short for the famous phrase "fake it till you make it", which is meant to help you get out into a more positive frame of mind. He's basically saying, "Find romance, and if you can't feel happy right now, fake it till you make it, and eventually you will feel happy again."

@drewdc Ok, that link isn't working very well. If you wanna see the page I attempted to link to, just look up "While You See a Chance SongFacts" on a search engine.
