i think that the first verse, is a man saying to a girl "Going for a drive won't you come along". The rest of the verse, is just descriptive of their ride... "Wind in your hair
Picnic in the park"
the second verse is again somewhat descriptive yet, it explains the safety of being in the car with the male
"Everything's fine in my Corvette"
the third verse, is same as the first with just one descriptive line being suttle-y different from the first
"Ribbons on your face"
I take this verse though, to be another man asking the same as the first.
then after the two verses have been sung which explain that it will be safe and fun, it then says:
"Two Corvettes collide on the freeway"
