and i think that may be self loathing because he isn't there for her as he wants to be.
she is in love with him, and lonely because he is a truck driver and is not home much. he drives truck to support her and the baby to be, but drinks himself to sleep because he is heartbroken he can not be with her at the moment. what keeps him going is he knows he will get to go home to her.
