It'd be like B. Folds playing Brick on his own and calling that a cover.

I'm not sure if the song is about a girl named Amelia Bright that the narrator is in love with or if it's about a dead person named Amelia Bright who's grave the narrator is laying near.

Actually, Darren wrote (at the very least) the chorus to "Brick." Funny how Darren played a major role in two of their biggest hits (he wrote "Song for the Dumped", too). He was like the band's George Harrison: didn't get much of a chance to show his writing skills in the band, but when he did ... he blew 'em away.

Which is probably why Hotel Lights is such a good band.

And let us not forget "Magic." Wow. The guy's gifted, and to paraphrase a band who I won't name, still he goes unnoticed.
