Lyric discussion by iloveyouyesyou

This song is one of my all-time favourites, I cry almost every time I hear it. I agree with Jawlipop with the vagueness and the fact that it just fits with me. To me it's the perfect simplicity of love conveyed within the lyrics and the vocals that really speaks to me.

For me, the 'meaning' of the lyrics is just about a boy who loves a girl, and the girl should be leaving, maybe moving house, whatever... 'fate is telling me you will not go'... so he makes his declaration: 'If the world ends, I hope you're here with me'

'In my dream you were playing woth buckets of sand...' I love that this section sounds like the seaside, with seagull-type noises and almost whale song being created with the synths.

Also, little suggestion on the brazilian bit at the end (Thanks so much for the translation)- my view is that it runs on into the next song... 'But the world didn't end, Yet somehow... We're Here' They are reunited, and the joy of We're Here completes the pretty package, they live happily ever after.

It's just beautiful. Purely beautiful.
