because of these lines i was always thinking it's about some rather unattractive girl or handicapped whick would give the rest of the song an ironic feel as it's so filled with erotism..
i'm not sure about the bit about the lamp - guess singing verses like this is typical for gospel choirs (then lamp symbolises faith) and featuring one in the song required such references?:)
