anyone know the significance of beltane?
bolan always references it and as far as i know its like, some celtic festival..
he was kinda tolkein influenced too, if that helps.
beltane is a celtic festival, celebrated on may the 1st. during the day there would be markets and flower garlands, singing, dancing etc. but at night, the bonfires would be lit, and lovers would pledge their intentions to eachother. it was a night of fertility, so 'everything' was encouraged. basically, anything goes on beltane.
